The design is inspired by the Cross that remained in the rubble at Ground Zero and by the coincidence of the total number of the fifty states of the United States of America with the number of the Hail Mary beads of the five decades of the rosary.

Each bead of the five decades represent one of the fifty States.
The antiphon Hail Mary beads are engraved with the three
letters USA...
